With over 20 years of real estate experience, Mr. Jones is a leading expert in acquisition, asset management, strategic planning, and market research. Prior to joining MBK, he spent 11 years at Irvine Company where he was responsible for apartment portfolio asset management and the acquisition of over 7,200 apartment units valued at $2.2 billion. Mr. Jones began his career managing research and client services at Grubb and Ellis. After joining MBK in 2012, he helped establish MBK Rental Living, a division of MBK Real Estate Ltd.. Before becoming President, Mr. Jones served as Vice President of Acquisitions and Asset Management for the company. During his time in that role, he developed MBK’s apartment investment strategy, sourcing and acquiring land for the company and coordinating the design of upcoming communities. He also oversaw operations and asset management of MBK’s apartment portfolio.


Mr. Kumjim brings over two decades of leadership and real estate experience to his role. He currently leads the company’s due diligence, entitlement, product design, and project management related activities. Prior to joining the MBK Rental Living team he held project management roles at Irvine-based Standard Pacific Homes, Gilbane Building Company in Walnut Creek, and at Shea Homes Southern California. In addition to his responsibilities at MBK Rental Living he is advocate for the real estate industry serving as a member of the BIA-OC Executive Committee. He is also a proud veteran having served multiple tours as a Naval Officer and holds an MBA from Pepperdine University with an undergraduate degree from UCSB.


David Kurian is Vice President of Construction Management at MBK Rental Living. In his role, Mr. Kurian is responsible for managing all construction operations for our developments. Mr. Kurian brings more than 30 years of senior-level experience to the MBK team, half of which was with TriCal Construction and the remaining experience as a Senior Vice President with both KB Home and Richmond American Homes. Over the span of his career, Mr. Kurian has overseen the construction of more than 10,000 single-family homes and approximately 4,000 multi-family units, including podium, garden-style, and mixed-use product types.

Ken McCarren - VP, Asset Management

Ken McCarren is the Vice President of Asset Management of MBK Rental Living. In his role, he is responsible for the Operations and Asset Management of all operating and planned MBK multi-family communities. Mr. McCarren has over 30 years of experience in Asset Management. Prior to recently joining MBK Rental Living he was responsible for the multi-family portfolio located in six western States owned by Merage Investment Group. Previously in his career, he spent 15 years as SVP of Asset Management responsible for the entire Irvine Company Apartment portfolio of over 44,000 apartment homes located throughout California. Mr. McCarren spent four years as the SVP Asset Management at BRE, a large public REIT owning over 22,000 units located throughout six Western States where he was responsible for the entire portfolio. Mr. McCarren also spent four years as a Special Agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Mr. McCarren holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from California State University at Long Beach. He is a Certified Public Accountant and holds the designation of Certified Property Manager from the Institute of Real Estate Management.

Ed Davis - VP, Acquisitions

Ed Davis is the Vice President of Acquisitions for MBK Rental Living. As such, Mr. Davis oversees MBK’s acquisition efforts, including assisting in the establishment of debt and third-party equity. In addition, Mr. Davis facilitates the disposition of assets on behalf of the organization. Prior to joining MBK in 2014, Mr. Davis had 15 years of residential acquisition, entitlement, finance, construction, and project management experience. Mr. Davis attended the University of Phoenix and holds a California Real Estate Salesperson license.
